Recipe By Orville
Preparation Time 0:25
Crumble a couple of these over your favorite ice cream

1 cup brown sugar (light) -- firmly packed
1 cup sugar
1 can evaporated milk (small 5 oz) -- (carnation)
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup pecans
2 teaspoons vanilla

Place both sugars and the evaporated milk in a sauce pan and mix well. Place a candy thermometer in the pan. Place on stove and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. When the mixture gets to 228 degrees stir in the butter and the pecans. Continue to cook until it reaches 236 degrees and then remove from the heat. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes and then add the vanilla. Beat the mixture with a wooden spoon just until the mixture begins to lose its gloss. Spoon out onto a sheet of aluminum foil and allow to cool.
