4 egg whites
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
6 tablespoons sugar
Beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar on low speed until whites hold soft peaks. Mix on medium and slowly add the sugar. Continue beating until whites hold stiff peaks. Spread meringue onto pie filling and spread to the edge of crust. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 12 to 15 minutes.
