Recipe By Orville
Preparation Time 1:45

1 cup butter (2 sticks) -- softened
1 cup brown sugar -- packed
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups pecans -- chopped
1/2 cup butter (1 stick) -- melted

Cream 1 cup butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt until fluffy. Add flour and baking powder and mix until smooth. Add pecans and mix. Add 1/2 cup melted butter and fold in by hand. Do not use mixer. Put dough in refrigerator and leave overnight. Place chilled dough on a cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop. Bake in 350 degree oven until lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool until cookies are firm. Remove from cookie sheet and place on cooling racks to cool completely. These cookies freeze well. Can be removed from the freezer and heated for a few seconds in the microwave to give fresh out of the oven flavor.
