Maple Nut Cookies     Back to Cookies     Printer Friendly Page

Recipe By Orville
Preparation Time 1:45

1 cup butter (2 sticks) -- softened
1 cup brown sugar -- packed
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 cups flour
2 cups pecans -- chopped

Cream 1 cup butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, maple flavoring, and salt until fluffy. Add flour and baking powder and mix until smooth. Add pecans and mix. Put dough in refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours. Place chilled dough on a cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop or spoon. Bake in 350 degree oven until lightly browned (about 10 minutes). Remove from oven and let cool until cookies are firm. Remove from cookie sheet and place on cooling racks to cool completely. These cookies freeze well and can be removed from the freezer and heated for a few seconds in the microwave to give fresh out of the oven flavor.
