Cornmeal Bread Hoagie Buns Class

weigh dough Roll hoagie stick Kneed dough
We start our Hoagie buns by making the cornmeal bread recipe. When the dough is ready to work, cut into 4 ounce pieces. Take a 4 ounce dough piece and roll into a stick. Roll out the stick to a length of about 6 inches.

Now roll the stick into the Hoagie shape. Brush the tops of the rolled out buns with melted butter. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size. Bake in a 375 degree oven until golden brown.

When the baked Hoagie buns come out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter. Let cool completely. These buns store very well in the freezer. I keep several bags of buns in the freezer. I just pull out the amount required about an hour or two before needed.
