1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 cups evaporated milk -- (carnation)
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 egg yolks -- beaten
2 tablespoons butter -- melted
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup coconut

Combine sugar, flour, salt, egg yolks, and evaporated milk. Cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly, until filling is thickened. Add the butter, vanilla, and coconut. Mix well. Pour into a 9" deep dish baked pie shell and top with meringue. Bake at 350 degrees until meringue is browned.
