Chocolate Malt Cookies     Back to Cookies Menu     Printer Friendly Page

Recipe By Orville
Preparation Time 1:30

Makes about 5 dozen cookies

1 cup butter (2 sticks) -- softened
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar -- packed
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 jar Nestle Carnation Chocolate Malt Powder (13 oz jar)
1/3 cup cocoa
2 cups flour
1 cup pecans -- chopped

In a mixing bowl add the softened butter, brown sugar, and eggs. Beat until smooth. Add vanilla, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, malt powder, and cocoa. Mix completely and then add the flour. Mix until batter is smooth. Mix in the pecans. Drop dough on an ungreased cookie sheet or one lined with parchment baking paper with a spoon or small ice cream scoop. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Do not over cook. They will appear soft and moist. When the cookies show cracks and a rough surface they are done. Remove from oven and let set a couple of minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely. Excess can be stored in the freezer.
