Good Eats Biscuit Making Class

Recipe By: Orville
Preparation Time :0:20

3 cup flour
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
4 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup milk

Mix all dry ingredients. Add shortening and cut in with a fork or pastry cutter until well blended. Add the milk and gently mix to form a ball. For lighter fluffier biscuits do not over work the dough. Place dough on a floured surface and roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut biscuits. Place on a baking sheet and bake in 425 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until lighly browned.
