Makes 2 loaves

1 cup butter (2 sticks)-- softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
3 eggs
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups bananas
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup pecans -- chopped

Cream butter, sugar, and eggs. Add baking powder, salt, and bananas and mix until well blended. Add flour and mix until smooth. Mix in pecans. Pour batter into 2 loaf pans that have been sprayed with cooking spray or lined with baking paper(preferred method). Bake in a 350 degree oven until centers test done. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes, then remove from pans and place on cooling racks to cool.
